CHINE : HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES and ADVOCACY
Reports of the destruction of hundreds of ’underground’ house Churches and news of death sentences being passed on Christian leaders continues. Young women were beaten and sexually assaulted in an attempt to force them to give evidence against church leaders. Detained Christians, and others, continue to be subject to appalling torture, forced labour in gruelling conditions, and even arbitrary killing.
(Photographs taken during such sessions by the Chinese Police have been smuggled out of China).
JSM has publicised events and released information obtained from the secret documents, leaked by Chinese officials, on the programme for the persecution of Christians, Buddhists, Falung Gong and cults in China. An appeal was launched to M Hun Jintao, President of the People’s Republic of China.
